Today, the first meeting of the Equality Committee of the European Network of Associations of Lay Judges (ENALJ), of which I was elected a member in May in Bergamo, Italy. took place.

The Committee was set to last until November 2026 and during this period it must prepare a report summarizing the situation in the member states and whether there has been discrimination against lay judges on the basis of gender, race, sexual orientation (added at my suggestion) and other grounds.

The next meeting, again in an online format, was set for February, and in May in Murcia, Spain, already live, we will be able to take stock of what has been done and plan for the remaining months.

The report will be presented to the Presidium, which in turn communicated with the European Commission.
